The organised programme in its entirety was very professional and enjoyable. The itinerary allowed us the maximum enjoyment of the visits to the wine farms commencing with the bus ride from the Aquarium at the V & A Waterfront.

From the collection and drive to Franschhoek, the day was excellent. Visited 5 wineries. Provided with numerous wines to taste and ample chances to enjoy either nibbles or a full lunch to accompany them. Stunning scenery.

A great trip for wine and tram enthusiasts

We took about an hour to drive from Cape Town to Groot Drakenstein station in the Franschhoek wine district. Soon after our welcome and orientation talk we boarded the tram, which runs along a former South African Railways track to Simondium where buses disguised as trams took us to the local wine lodges. You can get off the bus at as many of the lodges as you wish (or none). We visited Babylonstoren where we had an insightful tour of the winery and cellars, followed by a wine tasting and then went on to Plaisir de Merle and Allee Bleu. All the experiences were very worthwhile. The bus runs a frequent service and you can board it or the tram at any time to visit other vineyards. At the end of the day, local guides ensure you get back to Groot Drakenstein station, whence the City Sighseeing bus on which you arrived returns to Cape Town.

Good experience. Nicely organized and managed. Too long in my opinion, after 3 wine tasting it's not effective anymore. Should be half day tour.
